
Meg Rodgers comes from a varied and unique musical background.
She started piano lessons at the age of 4, flute lessons at
9 years, harp lessons at 13, and trombone at 14. She continued
to study all of these instruments at the collegiate level branching
out into jazz as well as classical.
After deciding on harp as her major, Meg went on to earn
a Bachelor’s Degree in Harp Performance from DePauw
University with Harriet Moore and a Master’s Degree
in Harp Performance from Northwestern University with Elizabeth
Cifani. She also studied in Vienna, Austria with Adhelaide
Blovsky-Miller, Principal Harpist of the Vienna State Opera
as well as spending a summer at the Salzedo Harp Colony studying
under Miss Alice Chalifoux.
Meg has performed in ensembles for artists such as: Amy Grant,
Dennis DeYoung, the Three Irish Tenors, and most recently,
Clay Aiken. She is a member of the LaPorte Symphony (as well
as orchestra liaison) and performs also with the South Bend
Symphony, Holland Symphony, and Rockford, IL Symphony. Meg
is active as a freelance harpist (known for playing Metallica
on request) in Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois and as a private
instructor in Southwest Michigan.
